The West Kowloon Cultural District showcased strongly at this year’s Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres annual conference, held for 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand. As well as featuring the Cultural District in a panel discussing the key role of Performing Arts Centres in cultural hubs, the District also had an opportunity to share details about “ON VIEW: Panorama”, one of its upcoming collaborative projects in the Asia Pacific region

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) welcomes Hongkong Post’s decision to issue a stamp sheetlet featuring the Xiqu Centre at the West Kowloon Cultural District (West Kowloon). Details were included in Hongkong Post’s announcement of the Special Stamps Issuing Programme 2019 and the 2019 Local Standing Order Service on 12 September 2018. The focuses of the new stamp issues in the coming year are natural grandeur and cultural vitality. The Xiqu Centre at West Kowloon, as a new landmark building standing proudly at the junction of Canton Road and Austin Road West, has been selected as one of the thematic designs for the new stamp

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has not been given the opportunity to read the document submitted by Hsin Chong Construction Company Limited (HCC) to the Legislative Council Joint Subcommittee to Monitor the Implementation of the West Kowloon Cultural District Project (Joint Subcommittee) and is not able to comment on it. It is very disappointing that HCC has submitted a confidential document to the Joint Subcommittee and selected parts of the confidential letter were used by Members during the Special Joint Subcommittee Meeting. It is clear that those aspects of the letter that have been revealed contain claims that are completely unsubstantiated, WKCDA feels obliged to respond as follows

Blue Poles Limited (BPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA), today announced the appointment of Gammon Construction Limited (Gammon), as the management contractor to oversee the construction completion of the M+ project (Project). BPL is also in discussion with the existing subcontractors and has already started the novation process for selected subcontractors, with a number of novations agreed. WKCDA intends to progressively complete the novation of selected subcontractors through BPL as part of the ongoing exercise to facilitate the continuation of the Project
